Samsung Media Studio was developed to manage audio, video, photo collections and so on. After you have installed it, this program, every time when you connect player to the computer, will start up offering you to check if there is any media files on the drive. The program has handy interface.
You work in two windows: in the first one - your PC or portable data medium and in the second one - player. So, if you want to import, say, some tracks from the drive, you need just to mark out appropriate tracks and press the right arrow. Samsung Media Studio has convenient navigation, audio and video player embedded. The program converts tracks into MP3 format, record them on your player and on PC in the Music folder. It can do the same also with video.
Unfortunately, the player doesn’t support all formats. In this situation SMS will help you to transfer video file on your player.
In addition, you can use Media Studio to burn CDs and to move the locations of your MP3 files and even purchase MP3 files on the online shop linked to this program and directly store the files you have purchased in your computer (you can download the files without any additional program since Samsung Media Studio recognizes those files as part of a removable disk).
Accordingly, Samsung Media Studio is a good alternative to Apple iTunes, especially for Samsung MP3 players’ users. It is worth to say that Samsung Media Studio will offer to update it periodically.

I have a Samsung YP-U4 MP3 player for which I have always used Samsung Media Studio to add and remove songs. For some reason Media Studio won't connect to my MP3 when I plug it into my laptop. Any ideas why?

I have a Samsung YP-Z5F portable MP3 player and I use Samsung Media Studio to sync it. When I connect the player to my PC SMS shows its content as list of songs in alphabetical order with no regards to artists or albums. This is very frustrating when I want to switch out an album or two, to have to manually select the songs on the albums that I want to delete from the device in order to make room for other albums. Please fix this so that SMS shows the list of songs in the order by albums and artists.

      Is it worth trying?

I've been using it for a couple of years now as I have a Samsung mp3 player, which I still love a lot.
It's a quirky program. Just as said above, in terms of putting stuff on your player it can be irritating, but the player itself will put things into albums.
I'd definitely use it (well, I do use it!). So yes, it's worth trying. I couldn't find anything better to use with my mp3 player - everything else messed it up or wouldn't work. That's not to say there aren't media studios nowadays that might be compatible - but I'm comfy with this one and its eccentricities now.
